Winschoterdiep
Currently the largest international student house in Groningen, Winschoterdiep provides accommodation for 338 students from all over the world. No wonder the student house is famous amongst international students all over Groningen for its frequent and fun parties and gatherings. There are many common areas with sofas, tables, TVs etc., where students can spend some time getting to know each other over lunch, dinner or just watching a football game. The rooms are spacious, as well as the corridors and common areas, giving a sense of freedom.
Here is what one of the four student managers, Miroslava Karadzhova shared with us:
Describe Winschoterdiep in 3 words.
Place to be
What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of Winschoterdiep in your opinion?
Winschoterdiep is a community of diverse, tolerant and open students. There are interesting activities all the time. The rooms are spacious and tidy.
Disadvantages are that it is relatively distant from Zernike and the facilities are shared.
Is the utilities offered/price ratio worth it in Winschoterdiep?
Yes it is. The rooms in Winschoterdiep are spacious, with lots of sunlight and equipped with the basic furniture every student needs. Furthermore, all shared facilities are in good condition. Also the student does not need to spend money on basic necessities (such as detergents, toilet paper, going to do his laundry, cutlery, etc.), which are normally not provided on the private market.
What makes Winschoterdiep “special”?
Winschoterdiep is a great opportunity to become part of a big family and make life-lasting friendships.
How is the overall social atmosphere in Winschoterdiep?
There is always someone to help you out in need, there is always someone to have dinner with, there is always someone to have a nice chat and beer with.
Why would a prospective FEB international student choose Winschoterdiep and not other student house?
If the student is looking for a dynamic and exciting life in Groningen, this is the place to be.
What advice would you give to the prospective international students?
Do not miss out on the opportunity to live in a student house. This is the easiest way to make new friends and kick off your stay in Groningen as smoothly as possible.
