Welcoming party
Soon after my arrival there was a welcoming party organised for the exchange students by the student association of the department of Business. It was great to meet some fellow students!

Flogsta Scream?
I live in a neighbourhood that is almost entirely populated by students amongst which many exchange students like myself. There are 16 seven-floor buildings like the one I live in, so you can imagine – that is quite many of students. Great thing when it comes to making new friends and corridor parties! Oh yeah, and every building has a sauna on the top floor.

Besides the home of many students, Flogsta is without a doubt the home of one of the weirdest traditions I have known. Since the 70s students have been screaming their guts out every evening at 10 pm. It’s a great stress reliever and a good way to know when it’s 10 o’clock. Great fun
I decided to film it myself!
Around the City
A short walk through a part of the city centre was enough to feel the cosy atmosphere of Uppsala and get a few quick snaps. The Domkyrka cathedral is the tallest church in Scandinavia, and it dates way back – to the 13th century. Many museums and old university buildings are spread around Uppsala giving it a sense of history and culture. After all Uppsala University is the oldest one in Scandinavia – established in 1477.
