Situated somewhere at half an hour by train from Groningen, this quiet little town is special in everyway. Since older times and until today, this small settlement, although awarded the distinction of being called a city in 1372, still keeps its atmosphere and invites people in with its rustic feeling.

Schiermonnikoog

Naturally, there’s not only a lot to see in Groningen itself, but there are also some nice places not far from Groningen. One nice spot to visit is the little island Schiermonnikoog. Some weeks ago I went there with a friend of mine and it was really funny and relaxing. Unfortunately, the weather was not that good, so the pictures are a little bit grey… However, when you want a day off (regardless of the weather), take the bus 163, then the ferry, and visit this cute island – it’ll be fun!
