How to get to IND Zwolle

As an international student you will probably have to pay a visit to the immigration desk (IND) in the Netherlands, for making a residence permit if you are a non-EU member or if you want to work in the Netherlands (especially if you have a Romanian or Bulgarian citizenship). The process of getting a residence permit might be complicated, that is why we divided it for you into simple steps:

Step 1: Go to the IND site

Step 2: IND Zwolle is the closest to Groningen, so make an appointment to IND Zwolle by calling at 0900 1234561 from NL or +31 20 889 30 45 from abroad (in working days from 9:00 – 17:00, 0.10 eurocents/minute). ATTENTION: please specify that you want to have the appointment to IND Zwolle. You will be put on hold for a long time until you will get to an IND operator to make the appointment, so be prepared to pay a lot for this call.

Step 3: Make the appointment and pay great attention to which documents the operator asks you to prepare.

Step 4: Wait for the confirmation letter which will come by regular mail.

Step 5: In the day of the appointment have all your documents ready and your confirmation letter with you, and follow the steps from this video:

Step 6: It will take from 3 weeks to 4 months for the residence permit to be ready. Wait for the confirmation letter and then you can follow again the steps from the video and go to IND Zwolle to pick up your residence permit.
