When you are deciding to go to a real-estate agency in Groningen, be prepared to see either rooms, which are so small, give you the impression that no person could live in that room and is additionally unpayable because the rent is too high, or you see rooms which are quite okay, but are even more expensive than the ones you have seen before.

The demand for rooms is very high, so you should always check the offers on the real-estate websites and visit them on a regular basis. Like everywhere else, students are looking for a nice accommodation for an affordable price, which can be a torturous job in a city like Groningen that is filled with students.
