As a student from abroad you will most probably arrive in the Netherlands by plane at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The best way to get to Groningen from the airport is by train. The entrance to the railway station is signposted in the arrivals hall.

Getting around in Groningen is simple and new students don’ t have to worry about this “problem”. The city of Groningen is called the bike city of the Netherlands, because 57% of the journeys within the city are accomplished by bikes. In other words, the area of Groningen has a comfortable size, lots of students and therefore getting around in Groningen is easy on bikes.
