Albertine Agnesplein

Albertine Agnesplein is a relatively small and cosy student house with a brilliant location halfway between Zernike and the city centre and just a few minutes walking from a nice park. It provides accommodation to 50 students in 24 shared rooms and 2 single rooms. So if you are willing to share a room with another fellow student, this is an affordable and convenient choice. Have a look at what some international students living there had to say about their experience:

We also interviewed the current student manager:

Describe Albertine Agnespleinin 3 words.

 Nice, cosy and clean

What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of Albertine Agnespleinin your opinion?

  Advantages:

-  The house is located near to Zernike, and to the city centre

-  The house is not that big, so everybody knows each other. There is always someone around, to chat with

-  We have a big park ( Noorderplantsoen) as our back yard!

Disadvantages:

-  Most of the rooms are shared. This may be a disadvantage, because you don’t have that much privacy, but on the other hand, it’s very easy to get to know people.

- We don’t have a big common room. We do have 6 common kitchens, where everybody sits, cooks, and has drinks together

- We live in a neighbourhood with a lot of old people and little children, that’s why we have to take extra care on silence at night

Is the utilities offered/price ratio worth it in Albertine Agnesplein?

Yes, I think it is. The rooms aren’t that expensive, and you get a lot for it. Housing Office takes care for the toilet paper, detergents and things like that. And we have a cleaner, who cleans the bathrooms twice a week.

What makes Albertine Agnesplein“special”?

Albertine Agnesplein is a relatively small student house where everybody knows each other and has fun with each other.

How is the overall social atmosphere in Albertine Agnesplein?

There is a real nice social atmosphere, like said before, everybody knows each other.

Why would a prospective FEB international student choose Albertine Agnespleinand not other student house?

If you wanna live close to Zernike, and close to the city centre, you should definitely choose for Albertine Agnesplein! This in combination with a lot of fun and cosiness makes Albertine the best place to stay during your time in Groningen.

What advice would you give to the prospective international students?

Enjoy your time being an Erasmus student!
